The Best Way to Sell Any Product or Service

One of the most effective strategies often overlooked is the power of repetition. Do you remember hearing “practice makes perfect” growing up? This might be the entrepreneurial equivalent! Whether you're selling a physical product, a service like coaching, or a sense of community, the key to success lies in rinsing and repeating your message until it becomes ingrained in your audience's minds.

 

Keep Your Message & Marketing Simple

Imagine walking into a store like Walmart. If you go in looking for a bike, you know exactly what you're going to find – a bike. There's no need to overcomplicate things. Similarly, when selling your product or service, clarity in your product is your best friend. Keep your product message clear, direct to the point, and consistent across all your marketing channels. 

People want to know exactly what they are buying…and what they will get when they make that purchase. Which means YOU have to be very clear about your product / service. 

 

If you’re sick of your message; you’re going to sell more products! 

Seriously! It may sound counterintuitive, but getting a bit tired of your own content can be a good sign. Why? Because it means you're consistently putting your message out there and it’s clear - you are clear. Again if we use the bike analogy - the bike company KNOWS that they’re selling a 10 speed blue youth bike, so the consumer knows what they are getting - a 10 speed blue bike. Don't worry about repeating yourself – in fact, embrace it. When you are clear - your audience is clear, so when they NEED a new bike - you’re the first one they come to. In any kind of marketing - you’ll start to notice that the more you see things - the more you REMEMBER about that company or product. 

Your audience needs to hear your message multiple times before it truly resonates in a way that could lead them to becoming a customer or client. 

Let’s use an example of a life coach. You’re a life coach that sells specifically to women who are going through a divorce. Your product:  10 virtual coaching sessions and a full day (6 hours) session in person at a luxury hotel room for $6,000 Paid in Full (Paid in Full) or a payment plan of 6 at $1,000. 

To ensure you sell 1 of these packages per month  all you need to do is get in front of 10 women who are going through a divorce each month - not bad right? 

 

Here’s a sample and quick 30 day marketing strategy to sell 1 package:

You should have a website and or a sales page for your product. The page should be EASY for people to find and easy for people to pay you. I am assuming as I give you this sample marketing strategy that  you have a website with a PAGE for your product, if not that’s step one - to build a sale page (or entire website for your products/ services!). 

1 - Website: Have a BLOG on your website that talks about Divorce and coaching support - what it looks like to have a person in their back pocket that they can message when they feel uncomfortable or conflict coming up through their divorce 

2 - Opt-In: In that blog you will have an OPT-IN that gives them a meditation for harder days while going through their divorce. An opt-in is a way for a business (like you!)  to collect people’s information This Opt-IN is completely free in exchange for their e-mail address. (Your goal as a company is to gather 10 emails / leads per month).

3 - Social media: For 30 days in your content you will post 3 reels per week, each reel using keywords saying “Going through a divorce here’s 3 ways to feel confident again” or “I help women who are going through a divorce move into their next phase of life with confidence and clarity” or “10 ways to get your ‘groove’ back after divorce”. 3 days a week - on your social media you’ll have content that teaches and educates. This makes YOU the expert. In between those 3 reels you will offer your Opt-in AND remind people repeatedly that you are available for your VIP 10 coaching package at anytime! In stories - have your direct link to download your opt in. 

4 - Emails: Every person who downloads your opt-in (meditation) receives an email with the meditation AND hears from you each week about the above topics that you talk about in your reels. This means= your reels + your emails are the SAME. The message gets put on REPEAT guys! Educate them a lot in your emails, give them value. And in EACH email have a button that LINKS them to your life coaching (10 session package). Don’t be shy - you’re giving them tons of value for free but they NEED your support! 

Now with this cycle - you can repurpose EVERYTHING and put your message on repeat. 

 

How to re-use this marketing strategy so you can constantly sell your product:

April 2024 - follow this 30 day strategy for your 10 sessions package 

May 2024 - Sell a different product (maybe its a 1 off 2 hour session $297)

June 2024 - Sell a different product (A 2 day retreat for women who are GOING through a divorce and need in person support + community $1500) 

July 2024 - Repeat the 30 day strategy for your 10 session package $6000 

August 2024 - Sell 1 off 2 hour session for $297 

If you've noticed - you also have three offers that vary in price, low, mid and high. That way if someone finds you and is NOT ready to invest in the $6,000 they still have the $1500 OR $297 option to work with you. 

Give yourself 2 months (or 8 weeks) to sell two other products - and then cycle back to the first product. After a year - you’ll a very nice marketing cycle of products! Obviously you will change some of your reels, emails, and strategy and opt-in BUT if you go through this motion - YOU WILL sell your product! 

Most people give up after a week - they say it’s not working, I’m asking you to give yourself 30 days!

Put Your Message on Repeat

Think of your marketing efforts as a playlist. Just like you wouldn't listen to a song once and expect it to stick in your memory forever - your audience won't remember your product after a single exposure. (And with algorithms, that first posting might not even make it to the audience you are intending!) Repetition builds familiarity and trust, two crucial elements in the buying process.

 

Sell, Sell, Sell

When it comes to selling, be confident and direct. If you're selling coaching, don't beat around the bush - sell coaching. Highlight the benefits, showcase testimonials, and make it clear why your coaching services are worth investing in. The same goes for selling a community - emphasize the sense of belonging, support, and value that your community provides.

It’s really that simple, if you’re selling coaching - sell coaching. If you’re selling community - sell community. If you’re selling a pair of pants - sell the pants! Whatever you sell, SELL IT!

 

Build a Waitlist

One of the best tips I have for you for generating interest and anticipation is to build a waitlist BEFORE your product or store is ready. Whether you're launching a new product or opening enrollment for your services, a waitlist creates a sense of exclusivity and urgency. Encourage people to join the waitlist by offering incentives such as early access, special discounts, or bonus content. A waitlist can be a solid foundation for you to get your product out there to the audience that you want to reach.

At the end of the day the best way to sell your products or services is to incorporate these tips. Don't shy away from repeating your message, get clear on what you're selling, and use things like building a waitlist to drive excitement and engagement. Remember, selling is about building relationships and meeting the needs of your audience - keep that at the forefront of your marketing strategy and you can be sure to find success!
