8 Things I Bring to Every On-Site Content Capture (and Why You Might Want to, Too)

Creating high-quality, consistent social media content doesn’t just happen—it’s captured, curated, and planned. As someone who works with realtors, coaches, authors, and business owners across Canada & the United States, I know how important it is to feel comfortable and confident at a content capture.

But first—what exactly is a content capture?

Why Content Captures Matter

People are expecting more from the content they consume. They want a story—something that walks them through a beginning, middle, and end. That’s why before-and-after transformations, progress shots, and real-time behind-the-scenes footage are so captivating. They show evolution. They build trust. And they offer a glimpse into your process, which helps your audience understand not just what you do, but how and why you do it. In a scroll-heavy world, people want to connect with the person behind the brand. Not just your product. Not just your promo. They want to see you in action, feel your vibe, and trust your expertise.

You can see some of the behind-the-scenes of how we do this on my Instagram. From spa transformations to dreamy mountain homes, we make your brand feel real, warm, and trustworthy.

What is a Content Capture?

A content capture is a scheduled session where we spend 1–2 hours collecting videos, photos, and behind-the-scenes moments that tell the story of your brand. We do this for:

  • Realtors: filming listing walk-throughs, community highlights, and personal branding content
  • Coaches: capturing storytelling moments, teaching bits, and lifestyle shots
  • Authors: highlighting writing routines, book launch material, and speaking engagements
  • Medi-spas and local businesses: snapping before-and-afters, treatments in action, and more

This is the content that fuels your Instagram, Facebook, blogs, and email marketing for weeks. It’s how your audience gets to know you, not just your offer.

If you want to understand why creating regular content matters for your brand visibility and growth, check out our blog on Why Every Business Needs a Blog.

Here Are the 8 Things I Never Leave Behind:

  1. DJI Osmo Pocket 3 A tiny but mighty camera with 4K resolution and built-in stabilization. It’s ideal for smooth walk-throughs and quick shots that don’t need a tripod.
  2. Convertible Carry-On / Sling Bag The perfect size for organizing all your tech and personal items. This one is lightweight, functional, and stylish enough to double as a purse.
  3. (Your favorite pair of sandals) Comfort matters when you’re standing, moving, and shooting. I swapped Birkenstocks for a pair I love even more—and yes, they’ve walked hundreds of shoot locations with me.
  4. Aquaphor Lip Repair Stick Dry lips under pressure? Not on my watch. This lip balm is essential for long days on set and keeps my lips camera-ready.
  5. Kitsch Satin Hair Scrunchies For keeping my hair out of my face while still looking polished and pulled together.
  6. Barebells Protein Bars These are the only protein bars I’ll eat on shoot days. They’re not chalky, and they taste like dessert. Enough said.
  7. Stanley Classic Water Bottle I need to hydrate—but I also need something that won’t leak all over my tech. The Stanley bottle is my ride-or-die.
  8. Stanley Flip Straw Lid Replacements I always bring a backup. If you know, you know.

You can find all of these awesome items right <HERE>. If you are getting more serious about your content either as a social media manager or as a personal brand - get the DJ Osmo - you can set that up and set your phone up and get two shots at once -- and the quality of video is incredible.

I live in Golden, British Columbia—a place known for epic hikes, mountain air, and zero big box stores. Shopping here? Let’s call it a 2/10. (Sorry Golden, I still love you.)

Amazon has honestly been a game-changer. As much as I try to shop local, content capture gear and tech tools don’t exactly grow on trees—or stay open past 5pm.

Amazon is a reality. It’s here. Embracing it has opened the door to a different level of convenience and efficiency in my business—and I know I’m not alone.

If you're shopping there anyway, use my affiliate links to support my lovely life. I earn a small commission, and every item on this list is something I personally use and stand behind. If that ever changes, the list will too. So when you shop - think of me not Besos (haha).
